Katya asked about Aoife and It would be hard to explain in a reply (as well as having nopthing to do with the oringal subject) so I thought I'd make an new post.
First off Aoife started life as 3 VERY abused dollies. They all had ink, chew marks, tears, ripped lashes, no face paint.(with the exception of one head which was mysteriously mint)
I bought these dolls at thrift shops for thier outfits (they had VERY nice outfits), and ended up with a box of mangled horrible looking doll parts I coudln't bear to throw out.
I took the head and body tag (the only thing identifying it as Gotz) off a Gotz who had serious chew damage , and tossed the rest because it was unusable. Then I took the Zapf limbs off a headless "friends of babycakes" doll. Friends of babycakes have plastic torsos, so there's really no way easy way to put a new head on. So I took the cloth torso off of a batatt doll that had also met a dog. I sewed the Gotz tag into the batatt cloth torso (so I would know where the head was orignally from) and then strung the Zapf limbs to the Batatt torso. After she was all strung, I tied her head on and she looked like a brand new doll!
This is foward facing, she's 17" , exactly one inch shorter than Kirsten, with the same body type. She can wear both AG and Bitty clothes well. She can only wear AG shoes beacuse Bitty shoes are a tiny bit smaller than AG ones.
From the side she also looks alot like an AG because of that Batatt torso.
And lastly all dressed and pretty. Isn't she cute. I know she's happy that someone took the time to love her instead of just throwing her away.

Where di you come up with that name and how do you pronounce it? How old is Aoife supposed to be? She's really cute! Cool!

She is supposed to be 8. She still has that tiniest hint of pudgy baby fat around her elbows, knees, and cheeks, which I LOVE. She has the exact same eye and hair color as Erica Kirsten, so I made her a little sister to her.
I got the name from one of my great aunts. It's Irish and is pronounced Ee-fa

I love Aoife! She caught my eye immediately when I saw your last album. Her Gotz head is a Maxi Muffin, right? I'd love to put a new body on my Maxi, but I'd feel guilty because she's in good condition the way she is.

She was 16 3/4 inches to begin with, a tiny bit bigger than the maxy muffin.
She does have the same facemold though, so it's pretty much the same head. Her body tag only says G?tz Puppenmanufaktur GmbH

I just saw her and had to have her. She was just looking at me with those eyes, calling to me, saying "fix me" "LOVE me"
She is adorable! We recently had a dollie making party at our house. It was so fun. I'll try to get an album together soon. I love how you put yours together with bit and pieces to make one perfect girl!
Actually she is a maxi muffin. They had those bodies first. Then Gotz changed them to the bitty type bodies. Ubarose has pictures where she has a maxi muffin with the moveable limbs.
